Golden Hour has no account, no servers of its own, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data.
Golden Hour is made by Oleksandr Butenko, an independent developer based in Spain (“we”). Contact: hello@alexbut.com.
With your permission, the app uses your location while it is open to work out tonight's sun times, choose a horizon that fits your region and get the forecast. Sun times and scene choice are calculated on your iPhone.
To get the forecast, your coordinates are sent to Apple's weather service (WeatherKit). To show a place name and to search for spots, the app uses Apple's maps and geocoding services. These requests go to Apple, not to us, and are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive your location.
You can decline or change location access at any time in Settings → Golden Hour → Location.
Your saved spots, alert settings and the latest forecast are stored only on your device, so the app and its widgets can use them. They may be included in your iPhone backups, depending on your settings. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Sunset alerts are scheduled on your iPhone. We do not run a push-notification server.
Golden Hour Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, card or Apple Account details. The app checks your purchase on the device using Apple's StoreKit.
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These do not identify you.
Golden Hour contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
Golden Hour is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data and to object to its processing. Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access or delete, but you can always write to us. You may also complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
